In Memory Of
Harper Rodden

On Wednesday, July 27th, 2016 Harper Kay Rodden was called to Jesus’ feet in Heaven. Jesus tells us to “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these.” Though our hearts are broken, we are comforted in the promise that little children inherit the kingdom of Heaven and live eternally in Jesus’ loving and protecting arms.

Harper was born on May 5, 2015 at Olathe Medical Center to Geoffery and Whitney Rodden. She was soon greeted by her big brother Cole and big sister Kinsley. Harper was surrounded by love from that very moment.

Harper’s greatest joy was when she could play with Cole and Kinsley. It really didn’t matter who might be holding her, when she saw her siblings her eyes lit up and her little legs would wiggle with joy. She immediately wanted them to take her and do all the fun stuff that big brothers and sisters do. We are certain her “ahead of schedule” development came from all the attention she got from them and she loved every minute of it.

From very early on, Harper could give you the best snuggles in the world. She could hug you with her whole body. Her little face would just melt into your soul! However, at nighttime it was always mommy or daddy that she wanted to cuddle with. They always knew when Harper was ready for sleep, she would cross her little legs, want something to hold in her arms and nod off for sweet dreams.

Harper is survived by her parents Geoffery and Whitney Rodden, siblings Cole (10) and Kinsley (7) of Spring Hill, KS, her maternal grandmother Mary Kay Jenkins of Plattsburg, MO, paternal grandparents Gary and Tina Rodden of Olathe, KS; great grandmothers Mary Ellen Jenkins of Plattsburg, MO, Elizabeth Rodden of Canton, IL, Beverly Wuehle of Bartonville, IL; aunts and uncles Tony and Heather (Jenkins) Ausdemore of Minden, IA, Gary, Jr. and Kerri Rodden of Spring Hill, KS, Gregory Rodden of Olathe, KS, Korey and Tiffany (Rodden) Danley of Greenwood, MO, Tyler and Ashley Rodden of Gardner, KS; cousins Tanner, Madison and Natalie Ausdemore, Kallie and Keely Rodden, Raleigh Rodden, Paisley Rodden, Tenley and Sybianna Danley.

Harper was also preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Carl Trice Jenkins.

Services will be held on Monday, August 1, 2016 at the College Church of the Nazarene, 2020 Sheridan Rd., Olathe, KS. The Reverend Clare Lozano of Heritage Presbyterian Church, also in Olathe, will be officiating. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 9:00 AM and will conclude just prior to the 11:00 AM funeral. Private interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Plattsburg, MO beginning at 3:00 PM the same day.

Though Harper’s life on earth was too short for all who knew her, her sweet gentle spirit lives on in our hearts. Her family is surrounded by a very large, loving community of family and friends. Her little life lesson to all of us is to hug like you mean it and to share your love freely!
