Ronald "Ron" Lee Jost was born January 20, 1934 in Hillsboro Kansas to Thedore G. Jost and Margaret (Richardson) Buller. He was raised just outside of Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School in May, 1951. After Graduation, Ron entered the Navy in June of that same year and served during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged December, 1954.

In January of 1955, Ron enrolled at Butler Community College, Eldorado Kansas, there he met his wife (Evelyn Emrich) of 61 years. Ron and Evelyn were married August 6, l955. Ron continued his education, attending Pittsburg State University Graduating with Bachelors in May of 1960, Masters degree in 1966. He completed his Doctoral coursework, however did not complete his Dissertation.

Ron spent his career in education and administration in the Kansas City Kansas School District, District 500. He began his career as a General Shop teacher at Northwest Junior High in the fall of 1960. After spending time in the classroom he became a Vice principal at that school , then a vice principal at Argentine Middle school. His final position with district 500 was Director of Transportation. He retired after 39 years with the district in 1999.

Ron was active in the leadership of the Kansas City Kansas YMCA, service on the board of both branches. He served on the Board of Directors and as President of Cancer Action. Ron loved to serve in each church he attended, serving on the council or on committees as needed. He was a member of several civic organizations.

Ron was a hard worker and a dedicated volunteer yet often he could be found in a basement shop where his creativity came to life. Over his years Ron loved to handcraft jewelry, textiles, decoys, and curio boxes. Ron custom built most of the furniture in the family home. For the last several years of his life Ron enjoyed photography and was successfully juried into multiple shows.

He is proceeded in death by his parents, and a brother Dale Buller

He is survived by his loving wife Evelyn (Eve) Louise Emrich Jost,

Two loving sons:

Son, Ronald Lee Jost (Lee) his wife Terri, three granddaughters Elizabeth, Sarah, Esther and a great-granddaughter Karter

Son, Gregory Emrich Jost and his husband Leo Delaloye

Two sisters Margy Buller Lincoln and Bonnie Jost Darwin
