Cliff participated in the Normandy Campaign, Northern France Campaign, and Central Europe Campaign earning Three Bronze Service Stars, the Good Conduct Medal, the EAME Theater Ribbon, and the WWII Victory Ribbon.

After serving in WWII, he attended Butler University in Indianapolis, IN and graduated with a BS degree in Administration. He met and married his college sweetheart, the love of his life, Janet Louise (Gormley) Rauch in 1950. They recently celebrated 66 years of marriage.

They have four children: Deborah Sue Clever of CO, Rebecca Louise Rauch of UT, Julie Ann Dierickx of Overland Park, KS and Carl Warren Rauch of UT. Also surviving are eight grandchildren: Jennifer Tupper, Robert Clever, Emma Jones, William Rauch, Elsie Dierickx, Lillian Rauch, Madeline Rauch and Conrad Rauch and seven great grandchildren: Kiya Tupper, Brandon Tupper, Ayden Tupper, Tanner Tupper, Kadence Clever, Novella Jones, and Jackson Clever. He is also survived by a brother: Carlton Lange Rauch, niece Jill Helmkamp, and nephew Jeff Rauch, all living in ME.

Cliff was active in his church in California where the family lived for 45 years and where he served as Chairman of the Board of Elders. He was active in community services in various organizations and when moving to Olathe in 2005, served as Elder at Olathe Bible Church.

Cliff was an entrepreneur owning several of his own businesses. He retired in 2005 and enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and sharing his faith. His smile would light up the room and he never hesitated to give encouragement to all around him. His gentle nature, compassion for others, generosity and positive outlook on life, regardless of the situation, will be greatly missed by all.
