Ava L. Gibson, 69, of Fort Scott, KS passed away Sunday August 14, 2016 at her daughter’s home in Olathe, KS.

Ava was born September 11, 1946 in Fort Scott, KS to Alec and Louise Stroud. She attended school in Arcadia, Kansas where she met the love of her life Artie Gibson. They were married April 10, 1965. She was a pastor’s wife and homemaker. After her children were grown she became an over the road truck driver so she could travel and see the country. She has always been in the church and has shared her talents of playing the piano and her accordion. Which were 2 of her favorite things.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, and her husband in November of 1982 he was 38 years old.

She is survived by Janetta Gibson, Skye Gibson (JoAnne Dederick), Ruth Wilson-Ousley (Lee Graves), Vercie Keithly (Mike), Becky Lee (David), Xander Gibson (Toni), daughter of her heart Evangeline Hart (Ken), 34 grandchildren and one very adored grandson in law Lupe, 7 great grandchildren and 2 on the way, 1 brother Harold Stroud of North Platte, Nebraska and many very loved nieces and nephews
