Katherine "Katie" M. Everett, 96, of Wichita, passed away on August 23, 2016. She was born on April 27, 1920 to Charles and Gertrude Hall in Webb City, MO.
Katie grew up in Webb City, MO. and after the war she met the love of her life, Dale, and were married for 41 years when he passed away. She had a wonderful life and enjoyed traveling to different foreign countries with Dale. She loved sports, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan, as was her father, but more so, she played golf up until she was 87 years old. She loved her children and grandchildren and most of all she loved the Lord.
Katie is survived by her children Ginger (Kent) Ewonus of Overland Park, KS and Scott (Vicki) Everett of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren Bradford Everett of Atlanta, GA, Kyle (Lauren) Everett of Austin, TX, Jordan Ewonus stationed in Fort Benning, GA; and great grandchild Drake Ewonus of Overland Park, KS.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dale Everett and granddaughter Kelsey Ewonus.
The family will receive guests for a memorial gathering on Friday, August 26, 2016, from 3:30 - 4:30 pm at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions, in Katie's name, may be given to Nottingham Health and Rehabilitation, to go toward the I.L.E.E. Fund, which benefits the residents. Address: 14200 W. 134th Place, Olathe, KS 66062. Phone: 913-322-3112
