Master Deputy Brandon Collins

Master Deputy Brandon S. Collins, 44, of Olathe, KS died Sunday Sept. 11, 2016.

Brandon was born on December 13, 1971, in Drumright, OK. He grew up in Oilton, Ok where he attended both elementary and junior high school. Brandon attended Glencoe High School where he competed in school athletics. After graduating in 1995, he attended Northern Oklahoma College and later Oklahoma State University. Brandon began his law enforcement career at Tulsa County, OK Sheriff’s Office as a Deputy Sheriff.

On October 21st of 1995, Brandon married Traci Shenold and moved to Olathe, Kansas where they raised their two daughters. He began working with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office. His assignments included detention, special investigations division, DEA task force officer, court security, and patrol. He was an avid OU fan. He enjoyed attending sporting events, including a yearly trip to the College World Series. He always had a love of music, was a fan of local bands and even taught himself to play the guitar. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents William Heber Collins and Marcine Lavay Collins. Materal grandparents Lyle Walter Lauener and Mildred Evo Lauener, and his brother Dustin Lee Collins.

He is survived by his wife Traci Dawn Collins of 20 years, daughters Ashlee Grace and Lily Rose. Father William Richard Collins and Iradith LeVonn Collins. Mother Jana Rene Ostrander and Tracy Patrick Ostrander. Brothers William Travis Collins, and Kyle Gage Collins. And sister Lindsay Denea Hood as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Deputy Brandon Collins Memorial fund in care of any Mainstreet Credit Union.
