In Memory Of
Jeffrey Lowrey

Jeffrey Scott Lowrey, Olathe Kansas, passed Sunday, October 16, 2016. A time of gathering to celebrate his life will be 5:30 to 8:30pm, Monday, October 24th, at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe Chapel.

Jeff was born January 10, 1992 in Overland Park, KS to Richard and Deanna Lowrey.

He was a graduate of Olathe North High School. Attended Johnson County Community College.

Jeff worked at Olathe Walmart as a service writer in automotive from 2011 to 2016. He recently transferred to the Walmart in Gardner, KS.

He was preceded in death by his fraternal grandparents George and Louise Lowrey, and maternal grandfather Donald Anders.

He is survived by his parents Richard Lowrey and Deanna Anders-Lowrey of Olathe, KS, his sisters Ashley Lowrey of Olathe, KS and Shannon Barker of Oak Grove, MO, brother Andy Lowrey of Oak Grove, MO, maternal grandmother Opal Anders of Lee’s Summit, MO. Aunts and Uncles Cheryl and Mick Pohlman, of Raytown, MO and Shirley and Les Lowrey of Kansas City, MO, plus many cousins, family and extended family that loved him.

From birth, Jeff suffered from Hydrocephalus, a rare birth defect. He spent much of his life in hospitals, where he endured countless surgeries. Jeff never let his disability get in the way of his many interests. He had a voracious appetite for knowledge. He loved music, his gun collection, his time on the shooting range, and NASCAR. Through his ride along experiences with Lucas Towing he became fascinated with the towing industry. He liked the idea that he could help people in trouble, who may have otherwise sold him short because of his disability.

He was very protective of his family, especially his sister, Ashley. He often forgot he was the “little brother” when it came to looking after her. Above all, he loved doing for others and make a difference in people’s lives. His little dog, Ellie, was his pride and joy. She had a special meaning since he had rescued her from the animal shelter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donation s be made to Unleashed Pet Rescue, Mission, KS where Jeff and his dog, Ellie, connected for life.
