Marian was born September 11, 1928 in Livingston, NY, the youngest daughter of Christopher and Marie (Schoenback) Lockwood. She married Glenn H. Genrich on December 4, 1951 in Albany, New York. They moved to Olathe in 1962. Marian was a stay-at-home mom until the early 1970’s when she went to work for Haskin, Hinkle & Slater Law Firm as a bookkeeper. Later in life she volunteered and worked as an assistance in the Olathe Public Library. Marian was active as a 4-H Leader with the Ridgeview Rockets. She loved playing bridge and was part of a group of women who began playing together in the late 1960s. To this day they meet monthly for an afternoon of cards and friendship. Marian was a lifelong Catholic who attended St. Paul’s Catholic Church while her children were at home and then transferred to Prince of Peace at the time of its inception; she was a member of the Chrysantas Club. Marian was an avid follower of the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, and enjoyed discussing the game, players and coaching staff.
