Manuela “Nellie” Munoz-Hernandez, 91, of Kansas City, Missouri passed Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Visitation will be 10-12 Monday, January 16th at Our Lady Guadalupe Shrine, 901 Avenida Cesar E Chavez, Kansas City Missouri 64108.Funeral Mass will be at Noon following the visitation. Private inurnment at Leavenworth National Cemetery.

Nellie was born January 14, 1925 in Cement City, Missouri to Jose and Maria Munoz. She retired from Empire Candle Manufacturing Company after more than 25 years. Lifetime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She belonged to the Guadalupanas. Her hobbies were kniting, quilting, ceramics, and porcelain dolls. She also loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Hernandez in 2006. Her parents Jose and Maria Munoz, Carol Hernandez, daughter in law, and 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

She leaves behind 1 sister Felicitas (Mark) Medina of Olathe KS, her 5 children: Daughter Barbara (Christopher) Muro, Son Joseph (Kathy) Hernandez, son Andrew Hernandez Sr., daughter Sandra Campos, and son Ronald (Nancy) Hernandez. 17 Grandchildren, 42 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great-Great Grandchildren. Numerous nephews and nieces.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine or the Kansas City Hospice.
