In Memory Of
Pearl Patricia Nicholson
1918 - 2017

Pearl Patricia (Brink) Stanton Nicholson went home to be with Jesus, after 98 full years of life, early on the morning of February 12th, 2017.

Pearl was born to Nadine and Clarence Brink on March 17, 1918. She delighted in the fact her birthday fell on St Patrick's Day. You would always greet her decked out in full green/shamrock regalia on her special day. Pearl was the only girl in a family with five brothers: Clarence Jr, Jack, Don, Bill and Charlie.

Living for 98 years, Pearl experienced both great joys and deep sorrows. She raised her two sons Gary Leon Stanton and Ronald Lewis Stanton to be God loving men after the death of their father Bennie L Stanton early in their childhood. Her boys accomplishments and their families were her pride and joy. Living to see her grandchildren married and to relish in great grandchildren brought her much happiness in the later years. Although Pearl outlived all but one of her brothers and both of her sons, she was steadfast and strong. On these sad occasions you would hear her say "this is part of life and the good Lord will walk with us."

Pearl loved to bowl, quilt, sew, fish, and dance. Her renowned baking skills leave "sweet" memories and a slew of recipes to be enjoyed for generations to come. We will miss her quip "I love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck."

A list of life events, places lived, and accomplishments of her long full life could fill several pages. However, these will one day be forgotten. Pearl's trust in God despite some of life's most crushing blows and her perseverance to have "faith without sight" is the legacy she leaves that will last.

Pearl is survived by her daughter-in-law Carlmetia Stanton who lovingly cared for her after the passings of her sons. She is also survived by her brother Charles Brink, his wife Marjorie, and a dear sister-in-law JoAnn Brink. Her strength, sweet humor, faith and love will be remembered and live on in her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We take great comfort she is now with Christ. "Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him."-Romans 6:8

The family would like to thank the staff and employees at Avonlea Cottages of Olathe for the loving care she received in the past few years.
