On November 6, 1965 he was married to Sherry Sue Meacham at North Topeka Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas. They have two sons.
Mr. Heston retired from American Century Investments in April 2007. He was previously employed by Achison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroad where he worked for 26 years, gaining full retirement benefits. Mr. Heston served with the US Air Force from 1966 to 1969, stationed with the 6986 Security Service in Japan. He is a celebrated charter member of Faith Journey Church of the Nazarene and has previously attended Olathe College Church of the Nazarene and Topeka Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene. He has served a variety of positions within those congregations including Board Member, Lay Minister, and beloved congregant.
He leaves his beloved wife Sherry; his son Sean and wife Lisa of Lawrence, Kansas; his son Shane and wife Julie of Parker, Colorado. He is survived by his beloved grandchildren: Ryan and wife Courtney; Corban; Kristina; and, Caleb and wife Shannon; and one great-granddaughter Macie-Mae. He also leaves a sister Donna and husband Denny; a sister Marlene; and a brother Tim and wife Debbie.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at 1p.m. on March 2nd at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Rev. Randy Calhoun presiding. Memorial gifts in Mr. Heston's memory can be made to Faith Journey Church of the Nazarene, 213 S. Kansas Avenue, Olathe, Kansas 66061.
