Dr. George Edwin Aikin, Jr., 96, of Overland Park, passed away on April 22, 2017 at Kansas City Hospice House.

He was born on June 23, 1920 in Kansas City, MO to Dr. George E. Aikin, Sr. and Mildred (McClurkin) Aikin.
He was a graduate of Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio, and Kansas City Dental College.

George operated his dental practice in Kansas City for over 50 years.

He was a long-time member and Elder of Village Presbyterian Church, and was active in the Mid-Town YMCA.

George is survived by his loving sons Ronald B. (Wanda) Aikin, James E. Aikin, and Curtis E. Aikin, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his brother, William ( Pat) Aikin.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Candice L. Young, and spouses Mary Louise Aikin Wright and Ann Gyllenborg Aikin.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 28 at 10:00am at Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, KS.

Private burial in the Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
