Donald F. Hodgson, DVM, 86 died on August 12,2017 at Villa St. Francis in Olathe, Ks.

Donald was born in Topeka, Ks. to the late Louis and Rachel Hodgson. The family moved to Manhattan, Ks. when Donald was young. His interest in animals started early as he grew up on a dairy farm. He graduated from Manhattan High School and attended Kansas State University graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1955. Donald married Betty Dianne Glessner of Alta Vista, Ks. on August 23, 1953. After graduating he joined a practice in Wymore, Ne. and in 1958 moved to Wetmore, Ks. where he had a mixed animal practice for many years. Upon retiring Donald and Betty traveled around the country in a motor home and lived in Phoenix, Az. and Branson, Mo.

Donald is preceded in death by his wife Betty, twin brother Richard, brother Robert, and sister Ruth.

He is survived by his three sons, Thomas {Letecia}, Michael {Elaine}, and James, five grandchildren: Shaun, Shane, Christian, Jared, and Jenny, and four great grandchildren: Kelsey, Phoenix, Mac, and Remi.
