The eyes, the smile, and yes, the expressions! The joker, the smoker, the hugger! The best friend you would ever want to have! The one that loved life! Every minute, hour and day!

I have to say, Nicholas Allen Sands, that your dad and I raised a great human being – someone so loving, compassionate, kind and smiled when - well, when things, again (not the finest moments in our lives) – stayed strong.

Nick loved his family. Well, of course his mom(LOL)! The bond with his brothers is undescribable. Maybe I’m just prejudiced, but I’ve watched them over the years protect and love - the Sands men. To the incredible people in his life, too many to count, he loved you all. So….when you are having a bad day, think of a “nickism”. We all have a memory or two of Nick. Because you know what? He made us laugh and smile! He was the one that would give you the hug you needed, say it will be okay and he would laugh and say “don’t know if I can fix it, but I will try”!!!

The list is too long for the people that Nick has made an impact. Life is too short people!! Be kind! Have compassion! Don’t think you’re better than everyone else! You’re not! Stand tall! Be proud! Love life!

Nick would have given me an A-. I’m giving myself an A+ for the beautiful man I was blessed to watch grow up. We will miss you, Nick!! When hundreds of people are so heartbroken to not have you in their lives, that sums you up!! So missed already!! Keep on!! Keep on!!

The family will receive guests for a visitation from 1:00-2:00pm on Thursday, August 31, 2017, at Olathe Christian Church, 1115 S Ridgeview Rd, Olathe, KS 66062. Nick's funeral service will follow at 2:00pm.
