Nilsa grew up in Puerto Rico and New York and attended St. Dominicks and Blauvelt schools. Nilsa loved playing board games, singing, hanging out with family and friends and traveling. She passed on her love for reading to all her children. She volunteered for the Connect Team at her church, as well as at her apartment complex, Good Samaritan Tower. She absolutely got a kick out of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She passed surrounded by family in her daughters’ home as she would have wanted.
Nilsa is survived by her loving children, Rosanne (Bob) Pedersen of Alajuela, Atenas, Costa Rica, Adele (Stan) Adell of Olathe, KS, Gisele (Mike) of Glendale, AZ, Tanya (Pete) Ciappa of Manorville, NY, and Mykel (Jeff) Crerie; of Los Angeles, CA siblings, Mercedes Burk of Maumelle, AR and Felix Clavelo of Havana, Cuba; grandchildren, Jennifer, Douglas, Craig, Jill, Jaime, Nicholas, and Vincent; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Taylor, Layla, Marcus, Emma, Nathan, Camille, Rocco, Nico, Micha, Brian, and Jaylee.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Rosalia; brother, Remy Clavelo; former husband Heriberto Llagostera, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
The family will receive guests for a visitation from 4:00-5:00pm on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at Southwoods Christian Church, 16110 Metcalf Ave, Stilwell, KS 66085. The memorial service will follow at 5:00pm.
