Viola M. Brock, 77, of Overland Park, KS passed away Wednesday, August 30th, 2017.

Viola was born the 5th of 7 children on January 29, 1940 in Fort Collins, CO to Harry and Agnes Carson, graduated in 1958 from St. Francis High School. In 1962, she married David Brock. Together they raised 6 children, 5 girls and 1 boy.

Viola was a faithful member of the Church of Christ her entire life and worked as church secretary. She also worked doing home typing, operated a home daycare and worked at the York Christian College bookstore. She was an active participant in Ladies Bible Class and Worldwide Bible Correspondence and also taught Sunday School, and was a member of Helping Hands for college students. She and David always held their home open for any college student needing temporary housing or a home-cooked meal. She was caregiver for her husband until he passed in 2004 of cancer, and for her mother who suffered from Alzheimer’s until she passed in 2006.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David, both parents, her sister Marilyn and brother Norvin.

She is survived by her children Danette Kientz, Toni Garretson, Vickie Stephenson, Andrea Brock, Shari Mesmer and David Brock, Jr, 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
