1950 - 2018

Fred Lee Lovsky, 67, of Overland Park, passed away on January 2, 2018 surrounded by loved ones. He was born on April 28, 1950 to Fred Lovsky and Margie (Hardesty) Helmick in Kansas City, KS.

He grew up in Kansas City, KS, where he attended school at Shawnee Mission West High School, and graduated in 1968. He then entered into the navy in 1970, stationed in Corpus Cristi, TX, where he served for 4 years. After the navy, he attended Johnson County Community College and became employed at Lucent Technologies, formerly Western Electric, where he worked as a technical specialist in charge of asset management, and retired after working 34 years. After retiring, he worked as an electrician for his brother, Mark Lovsky & Sons Construction. His most recent profession was as a Pharmacy Tech, at Prescription Solutions and CVS Caremark. Over the last 15 years, he was actively involved at Olathe Girls Softball Association, where he founded and coached the Sliderz softball organization and was involved in the OGSA Board as a commissioner and equipment manager.

Fred is survived by his loving daughter, Madison Boehler, and her husband Nick; mother, Margie Helmick; brother, Mark Lovsky; sister, Sharon Turley; and granddaughter, Lexington Boehler.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Lovsky; and sister, Joyce McCann.

The family will receive guests for a visitation from 6:00-8:00pm on Monday, January 8, at Penwell-Gabel's Olathe Chapel. The funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday also at Penwell-Gabel. Burial will follow in Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City, MO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Olathe Girls Softball Association, P.O. Box 2541 Olathe, KS 66063.
