Lawrence Hill
He was born on May 11, 1937 to Henry and Mary (Dillon) Hill in Harmony, NC. And was a veteran of the US Navy.
Lawrence worked as a Commercial Truck Driver and was a member of Local 391 Teamsters.
He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Pairs and Spares Sunday School Class.
He loved the beach and was most proud of his children. Family was everything.
On December 26th 1954, he married the love of his life Peggie (Smith) Hill.
Lawrence is survived by three children Darrell (Nancy) Hill of Melbourne, FL, Lawrence Duane Hill of Irwin, PA, and Sonja Clapp of Olathe, KS, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one brother of Lancaster, SC.
A special thank you to Carol Baldwin who cared for him and loved him the last nine weeks in Kansas. She helped make the transition smooth. Even though it was freezing in Kansas and he did not want to go outside, he loved being around family and new friends. He watched his grandkids and their friends with delight.
He is preceded in death by his wife Peggie, his parents, and eight siblings.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018, at 3:00 pm at Penwell-Gabel – Olathe Chapel, with visitation an hour prior to the service.
