In Memory Of
Ruth Ellen Bryant Williams
1940 - 2018
Ruth married the love of her life, Charles Edward Williams, in 1957. They enjoyed 59 years together, until his passing in 2016. Ruth was a cosmetologist and owner of the Chat’n Curl in downtown Olathe for many years, later working as a graphic artist at AC Printing. She enjoyed studying the bible and was an active member of NW Bible Church in Kansas City. Ruth’s passion was painting, which she loved sharing with friends and family. Ruth was very active in the Order of Eastern Star, traveling many miles around the state, serving as the Worthy Grand Matron of Kansas in 1986-1987. She also traveled the world with her husband, both while he was in the Air Force and on many cruises after retirement. As everyone knows, she was a huge fan of the KC Chiefs & St. Louis Blues, never missed watching a game. Ruth was well known for saying “I am blessed.” May we all strive to have her outlook on life.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 4 to 6 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, KS. The funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 15, 2018. A private graveside service will take place at Olathe Memorial Cemetery.
