Daniel Thomas Jenkins, born April 3, 1953, died January 11, 2018.

Dan died in his home in Edwardsville, KS after a long battle with liver disease and heart failure.

Dan grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. Graduated from Shawnee Mission South high school class of 1971. Then went on to become a respiratory therapist graduating from Johnson county community college. Although Dan was good at so many things, his first love was always music. He was very accomplished guitar player. He played in many bands and made some wonderful friends through music. As a young Man he was a runner, cyclist, and swimmer. He competed in races as well as triathlons. He moved to Denver in 1983, where he was married.

He was a self-taught carpenter and handy man. He bought and restored homes in Denver, and eventually bought an apartment complex. He moved to Treasure Island in Florida in 2000, and bought an Ocean side resort.

Anyone who knew Dan, loved Dan. He was always quick with a joke, and made everyone around him laugh. He loved animals, and had a cat named Chubby. More than anything he loved his only son, Evan Jenkins. He was so very proud of what an amazing young man he has become.

Dan was born in Ottawa, Kansas to Robert and Anna Mae (Sue) Jenkins. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his son, Evan, of Denver, CO, two siblings, Jackie Jenkins and Joi Brooks of Olathe KS, and two nephews, Jordan and Jackson Brooks, also of Olathe KS.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 10:30am at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe, KS, with visitation to follow.
