Luella Lucille Ekberg, 97, of Overland Park, KS, formerly of Ottawa, KS, passed away on February 25, 2018 at Olathe Hospice House.

She was born on November 5, 1920, to Pete and Ella Sinner in Culbertson, NE.
On November 18, 1950, she married Roy Victor Ekberg.

Luella was a homemaker, and eventually worked for Foremost Insurance while living in Overland Park. After retirement and prior to moving to Ottawa, Roy and Luella resided at Pomme de Terre Lake in MO and in Brownsville, TX. She enjoyed gardening and especially loved tea roses. She was also a masterful seamstress and sewed and repaired many items of clothing for her daughter.

Luella is survived by daughter, Cheryl Gerhardt, of Overland Park, granddaughter, Kimberly Gerhardt, of Black Hawk, SD and brother Elmer Sinner of Omaha, NE. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Roy, sister Marjorie Johnston, and brother Robert Sinner.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Olathe Chapel, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to service time.

Memorials are suggested to the Olathe Hospice House.
