In Memory Of
Christian Scott Landes
1999 - 2018

Christian Scott Landes, 18, of Olathe, was called home to be with our Lord on May 6, 2018. He was born on May 13, 1999 to Scott and Traci (Fischer) Landes in Oklahoma City, OK.

Christian spent his first few years surrounded by family as the first grandchild and nephew on both sides. As we all gathered at the hospital awaiting his birth, we knew that life was going to be amazing with him in it. Over the years, he lived in Texas, California, and his favorite home of Olathe, Kansas. Christian knew no strangers. Although he did not speak, he touched everyone who knew him. His smile will always live on in the hearts of those who were his friends. Everyone says how he could light up a room with his smile. His precious freckled cheeks and his waving hands were so, so sweet. Christian had a laugh that could brighten up the whole day. We lived for his laughter; we would laugh out loud just hearing his sweet sounds. Words cannot begin to express how profoundly he touched each one of us. We could tell a thousand stories about our guy.

Christian experienced many exciting things in his short time on earth. He graduated high school last year from his amazing school, Olathe East, and moved to the CONNECT program at Olathe North this year. He was an avid flyer with Challenge Air. C loved having his family around him, and riding in the car and especially Pap-pa & Pawpaw’s trucks. He shared such precious moments big and small with his biggest cheerleader, his sister Addison. He loved seeing his aunts and uncles and enjoyed having his little cousins all running around the house. His open mouth kisses were the absolute best! His messy hands patting ours will be missed beyond measure. Family and friends loved waiting each Christmas season for Traci’s post on his famous “C’s ornament additions” after the Christmas tree was put up! Christian was admired and loved by many people who had never met him. Many felt like family from reading Traci’s Facebook posts with such truth and honesty about the abundant life with a precious-needs child and his amazing, talented sister. Addison has been Christian’s advocate, supporter, his confidant, and very best friend. Both Christian and Addison were so blessed to be a part of the Just Like You-Autism video which taught all who watched how to love and cherish those with different abilities. He was the driving force for Sensory Friendly Films through his Dad’s job with AMC theatres, which gives families all over the country special ways to make lasting memories at the movies. He enjoyed “C’s Night Out” when he would attend SOAR at Grace Church & PNO at Legacy Church. The SOAR ministry became very important to him, he loved going to church and seeing friends. He loved OU football, the Royals, roller coasters, his family, & his dogs. He was happiest when he could be in his backyard. He enjoyed being outside in his swing or running in his yard, usually with a hula-hoop, hanger, or broom in hand. And he enjoyed anything he could chew on.

We know he had an army of people who loved him and prayed for him over the years. We thank you God for giving us this special boy. We love him so much. We know that we will see Christian again. His family and friends know he is in the loving arms of our Father singing, dancing and talking non stop with his favorite broom and that helps to bring peace to us.

Christian Scott is survived by his precious parents Scott & Traci Landes, his sister and best friend, Addison Grace. He is also survived by his grandparents Larry & Linda Fischer (OKC) and Don & Lynda Landes (OKC), his aunts, Kerri & Michael Laffoon, Amy & Kevin Croom, Robin & Michael Grant, and his uncle, Brian & Caty Fischer. Christian had six cousins who loved him to pieces: Austin, Blake, Trey, Bowen, Charlotte, Quinn, along with his sweet babysitters and caregivers Jessica (his Jo Jo), Kaitlin, Christy and many, many other family and friends who are dear to our hearts. He was greeted in heaven by his Great Grandparents John & Alma Howell and Walter & Irma Fischer on his mother’s side, Herschel & Lois Merchant, and Melvin & Ann Landes on his father’s side and many great aunts and uncles.

Christian, it was such a blessing to be a part of your world. You taught all of us more about life and loving others without ever saying a single word. You are, and forever will be our sweet, sweet boy.

“Be yourself in all situations, love must always be unconditional, and search for opportunities to laugh every day; this is how we honor Christian.”
