He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 69 years, Gladys (Spielbusch) Klusman, brother Ernest Klusman, and son Robert James Klusman.
His early childhood was spent on his grandfather’s farm in Johnson County.
In 1936 his family moved to a farm near Louisburg where he completed high school.
Carl enlisted in the Army in 1944. He was seriously injured in Luzon, Philippines on February 3rd, 1945 at Zig Zag Path and received a Purple Heart.
After the war Carl became a State Farm Agent in Paola, where he and Gladys worked until his retirement in 1981.
Carl was a pilot and avid fisherman; but his greatest love was his wife, Gladys, children and grandchildren.
Carl is survived by his son Larry (Mary) Klusman, daughter-in-law Barbara Klusman, daughter Patricia (Don) Lunbeck, son Gary (Kristi) Klusman, and daughter Sharon (Jamie) Bausher. He has 22 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren.
