Marie Ann Logiurato Colasuonno Dillon passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on August 20, 1935, to John and Jenny (Fortunato) Logiurato. Marie married Vincent Colasuonno, a career air force pilot, on August 21, 1954. They had four children, Patti, Ken, Bob and Stephen. Marie and Vince (USAF Major) moved frequently with the Air Force until he was killed in action in Vietnam February 12, 1969. On September 1, 1972, Marie married Stephen V. Dillon.

Marie was able to fulfill her lifelong dream of attending college. She attended Wichita State University, Washburn University and received her Masters in Special Education from the University of Kansas. She taught in several school districts, including Shawnee Mission and Blue Valley school districts, until she retired in 1998. She was active in the Learning Disability Association, Council for Learning Disabilities, and the Council for Exceptional Children. During her career she received many commendations and awards.

Marie loved being a mother and grandmother, sharing her talents with others. She was very generous and gave her time to many organizations. She was an active member of Prince of Peace parish in Olathe, Kansas, Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, Catholic Charities of Olathe, and the Meals on Wheels program.

After retiring, Marie traveled extensively around the world and enjoyed meeting people. Her love of cooking was enjoyed by many, including volunteering as a Master Chef.

Marie is preceded in death by husbands Vince and Steve, son Ken Colasuonno and son-in-law Carl Jennings. She is survived by daughter Patti (Mark) Haskell of Olathe, Kansas, daughter-in-law Sharon Mikkelsen of Fort Collins, Colorado, sons Bob (Melody) Colasuonno of Henderson, Nevada, and Steve (Julie) Colasuonno of Charles City, Iowa, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
