Clell “Jake” Jay Smith, 72, of Raytown, Missouri passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015. Son of Clell and Mattie Smith and brother to Clair “CB” Smith. Clell was born in Council Grove and attended school there until 1960, furthering his education at K.S.T.C of Emporia he received his B.S.E. degree. He taught school for one year in Lenora, KS but health reasons routed his life in a different direction moving to Raytown, Missouri in 1979, he became a member of First Assembly of God where he taught Sunday School for seventeen years and also worked for the C-2 District as a substitute teacher for a number of years. His love of drama influenced his joy of life. His favorite scripture was Daniel 12:3.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Raytown First Assembly of God church or to the Kansas City Hospice House.
