Lt. Joseph Scott Nagy, 51, of Olathe, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 1, 2015 with his wife, Carla and children Joe, Nicole and Chris at his bedside at KU Medical Center.

Joe was born on May 13, 1963 to Joseph and Jean Nagy in Norton, KS. He graduated McKeesport Senior High School in 1981, and attended Penn State, while studying Aerospace Engineering, for two years before enlisting in the U.S. Army.

Joe joined the U.S Army in 2/15/1983 as military police officer, and was stationed out of Frankfurt, Germany. While in Germany, Joe enjoyed the food, the culture, and exploring the countryside and partaking in Oktoberfest.

He married Carla Jackson on May 26, 1984 in North Huntington, PA and they started a family in Germany. Returning to the States he was transferred to Fort Leavenworth and remained there until discharged in 1992.

Joe loved holidays with his family where he could provide his delicious smoked meats for all to enjoy, and he also enjoyed golfing and in his earlier years was also involved in Karate School.
