Daniel Joseph Rynard
1939 - 2015

Daniel Joseph Rynard, loving husband, father, grandad, uncle, son, brother and friend, peacefully left this world on March 28, 2015.

Described by all who knew him as "Bigger than Life", he answered his call on his terms, defying all odds and medical logic.

He was born on September 30, 1939 to Daniel James and Catherine Agnes (Stoway) Rynard in Kansas City, KS.

On June 4, 1971 he was united in marriage to Cheris Jane Gray.

A very proud U.S. Marine and Ret. Kansas City Kansas Detective, he shared his love of country, God, and family with his sons Matthew G. (Terry) Rynard and Billy D. (Jennifer) Johnson, and daughter ChloAnn Rizzo. Dan was a former member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Metro Squad, and upon retirement from the Kansas City Kansas Police Dept., was employed as a Security Guard at the Wyandotte County Courthouse for the Unified Government.

He is survived by his wife, Cheris J. "Cherry" Rynard, his three children, grandchildren Daniel, Erin, Alexandra, Carly, Tanner, Courtney, Dominic, Vincent, and Gianna, great-grandchildren Eli and Annabel, a host of nieces and nephews, two sisters-in-law, Sally Rynard and Janet Rynard, and some dear life-long friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents, his brothers John Rynard and James Rynard, and his daughter, Mary Rynard.

A prayer service will be held on Monday, March 30 at 6:00pm at Holy Angels Catholic Church. 15408 Leavenworth Rd., Basehor, KS 66007, with visitation to follow until 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 31 at 9:00am, also at Holy Angels Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Kansas City, KS.

Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
