AMY SHERRILL HENRY, age 55, passed peacefully surrounded by her family, on March 28, 2015.

Amy was born July 2, 1959 in Newton, NC to Marshall and June Sherrill. She graduated from Bandys High School in 1977, where she actively followed the men’s and women’s basketball program, and went on to attend UNC Charlotte.

Amy began her career working for COMM SCOPE in Newton, NC, where she met her husband, Kirk Henry.

Amy was married to Kirk Henry on November 18, 1989 in Dallas, TX, where they resided for four years prior to moving to the Kansas City area. While living in Dallas, they welcomed their first child, Jared, in 1990. Amy and Kirk were members of the First United Methodist Church of Copell, TX, where they enjoyed their Sunday School class.

Shortly after relocating to Kansas City, their second child, Karsyn, was born in 1994. Amy was devoted to the care of her family, and participated in all of her children’s school and sporting activities. Amy was also a passionate life-long Tarheel Basketball fan.

Amy had the ability to make fast friends with her caring and outgoing nature. She truly valued her friendships, and brightened the lives of those around her. She touched more lives than she will ever know.

Amy is survived by her husband, Kirk Henry, her children Jared and Karsyn, her mother June Sherrill, her brother Robert Sherrill, and a large loving, extended family of aunts, uncles, brothers and sisters-in-law, six nieces and nephews, and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Marshall Sherrill, and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Taylor, and Mr. and Mrs. Roy Sherrill.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Carsinoid Cancer Foundation, 333 Mamaroneck Ave., #492, White Plains, NY 10605
