In Memory Of
Phyllis Danielson
1924 - 2015

Phyllis Ann Corlis Danielson was born in Topeka, Kansas on August 12, 1924.

Her parents were Hazel Juanita Corlis and Lyman Alvah Corlis. She was the youngest of their three children. She was at home in Olathe, Kansas when she left us on August 26, 2015 to take the Lord’s hand and step into heaven.

As a child, Phil’s family moved frequently: Topeka, Kansas; Joplin, Missouri; Lawrence, Kansas; Chanute, Kansas and back to Lawrence. Phyllis graduated from Lawrence High School and then attended Ottawa University, Beaver College of Jenkintown, PA and the University of Kansas.

On June 12, 1947, Phil married Gordon Danielson and they had three children: Brad, Janet and Eric. Gordon and Phil had a full life together until Gordon’s passing in 2000. Since then, she has lived in Arizona, Madison, Wisconsin and Olathe, Kansas.

The statistics don’t tell the best story of our wonderful mother. She was a stay at home wife and mom and provided an after-school safe-haven to many of our friends. She made cupcakes and cookies for our friends to take to school when their moms couldn’t find the time. She was always there when we needed her. She attended sporting events, musical concerts and was always interactive in our school lives. She has four grandchildren and they all got to see her before she died: Matthew Byrne and Elizabeth Byrne of Madison, Wisconsin, Kathryn Byrne of Tallahassee, Florida and Blake Danielson of Denver, Colorado.

Just a phone call away, she supported the three of us right up to the end of her life. We miss hearing her voice and her laugh. It was truly wonderful to meet the many friends that came to visit her during her final illness and served as a reminder that it was her heart and her kindness, as well as her strong faith in God that defined her life.

By going home to die, she was able to spend a lot of time with her very close cousin, Helen Audrey Osborne and that was very important to her. Her home was located in the Cedar Lake Village community in Olathe, Kansas and there is no way to express our thanks to them and their staff for the eight wonderful years she lived there and for the environment they provided and care they showed her in her final days. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

We are truly blessed to have had this lady as our mom. Please send any donations that you wish to make to Cedar Lake Village at 15325 S. Lone Elm Road, Olathe, Kansas 66061.
