James Earl “Jim” McRoy, 58, died Saturday, October 3rd, 2015 at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma following courageous battles with cancer and diabetes.

Jim was born on October 8th, 1956 in Springfield, MO, the son of Charles and Patricia (Hart) McRoy. The family moved to Grandview, MO in 1964. He completed his education at Grandview High School where he was a prominent football player.

Jim met Kathy Baxter through a mutual friend. They married on October 16th, 1982. They made their home in Gardner, KS with their two grandsons.

Jim held warehouse positions for several companies throughout his career. He was an avid Royals fan. He also enjoyed football, watching movies and being a grandparent. He will be remembered for his kind heart, positive outlook on life and his ability to make others laugh.

He leaves his wife and best friend of nearly 33 years, Kathy (Baxter) McRoy; his daughter, Kaitlyn Ludwig and her husband, Kevin; his granddaughter, Ryleigh; and his grandsons, Chase and Colton. He is also survived by his parents, Charles and Patricia McRoy of Belton, MO; his brother, Bob McRoy of Belton, MO; his sister, Pam Wallace and her husband Shawn of Albuquerque, NM; his sister, Barbara Frasier and her husband Rudy of Cordova, TN; his brother, Scott McRoy and his wife Teresa of Peculiar, MO; his brother, Jeff McRoy and his wife Sandy of Drexel, MO; his brother, Chris McRoy of Belton, MO; fourteen nieces and nephews; as well as many friends and extended family. Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Wayne McRoy in 1957.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America in Tulsa OK or a gift may be made to the family to help with the care and education of Jim's grandsons.
