Robin Lynn Taylor, 44, of Olathe, KS passed away on October 10, 2015. She was born on March 1, 1971 to William and Judy Hungerford in Sioux City, IA.

Robin grew up in South Sioux City, NE where she attended St. Michael’s Elementary and graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1989. She was a great softball player and still brags about her MVP award she earned at the State Tournament. From there, she continued her education at The University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. She moved to Olathe, Kansas shortly after graduating to pursue her career as a Juvenile Probation Officer with Johnson County Kansas. She is the beloved mother of two fabulous kids. Ashley, who is attending Seton Hall University and Logan who is a Freshman at Olathe North High School. In July of 2007, Robin met the love of her life, Jeff Gatton. They spent eight wonderful years together as each other’s greatest cheerleaders. In her spare time, you would always find Robin watching her favorite teams, the Kansas City Royals and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was extremely proud of Ashley’s enrollment at such a prestigious University. Robin was also a very avid supporter of Logan’s baseball teams. You always knew where she was sitting as she was the one cheering the loudest and keeping the scorebook. Additionally, her most favorite times were spent with family attending BBQ’s and many, many concerts with her amazing friends.

Robin is survived by her soul mate Jeff Gatton; children Ashley and Logan Taylor; parents William and Judy Hungerford; brother Brian (Mia) Hungerford; nephew Easton Hungerford; maternal grandmother Shirley Noble; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Jack and Florence Hungerford and Rolland and Marilyn Weyhrich.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Thursday, October 15th, 2015 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home in Olathe, KS. The family will receive guests following the service until 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
