Douglas Thompson Porter, 58, of Paola, passed away on November 3, 2015 at Olathe Hospice House. He was born on March 13, 1957 to Armond and Elizabeth "Betty" (Hannon) Porter in Olathe, KS.

Doug's father was in the U.S. Air Force and he spent his childhood in the Phillipines and Panama before returning to Olathe in 1971.
Doug and Cindy were married in 1988 and moved to Paola in 1991. Doug enjoyed attending church, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports.

Douglas is survived by his loving wife Cynthia; his eight children; Tiffany Heath, Natalie Hunter, Anthony Porter, Tyson Cramer, Justin Cramer, Rachel Porter, Isaiah Porter, Austin Porter, and 12 grandchildren. Douglas is also survived by his mother and step-father, Elizabeth "Betty" and Ivan Wicke, and his sisters Kelley Jones and Linda Moore.

He was preceded in death by his father Armond.

The family will receive guests for a visitation on Friday, November 6, 2015, from 10 -11:30 am at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, Olathe. The funeral service will follow at 11:30am with burial in Antioch Cemetery, Spring Hill, KS.
