Linda, My wife, Jo and I were in Wichita on family matters when Mike passed. When we returned home a friend told me about Mike's passing. I
went home and told Jo and we both shed some tears and loving memories of Mike right then and there. Every day we think of him. Jo says everytime there is a phone call and the caller I.D. is Wallace Saunders she always starts
to say .."Oh, that's Mike..." and then she remembers.
I have known Mike 25-30 years as a Judge and later, after my retirement, I had the opportunity to mediate many of his cases. He was the expert on insurance coverage issues and was always prepared and so professional.
We cannot imagine how much his family misses him. After mediations we would catch up on things. He always spoke fondly of you, the children and your Grandchildren. I always considered him a friend and he always let me know he felt the same.
We hate so much we missed his funeral. We really miss him and he will always be thought of fondly. Just saying he was a great guy just doesn't
say enough.
Linda, if you or your family members need anything we will proudly be there for you. May God Bless you and your family and may God Bless Mike
and may God hold him Dear........ Respectfully, Larry McClain

I have such fond memories of Mike in my Eighth grade English class. He was funny as well as a hard worker. He was never a discipline problem, but was always kind to everyone. He is the kind of student that a teacher never forgets even though we have lost track of each other over the years. I know he was a successful person, and I extend my sympathies to all members of his family.
May God Bless all of you generously.
~ Duane Anstine - November 9, 2015

I met Mike 30 years ago when we were young lawyers on opposite sides of a case. A few years later, we began crossing paths more frequently when our kids became acquainted through attending the same schools and running in the same social circles. Although we didn't know the Duttons well, our families were definitely linked through our children. I also worked with Mike on a couple of Habitat projects. I drew him on a new case a few months ago, and I knew I was in for a tough, but fair, defense. Mike was a fine lawyer, a terrific family man, and an all-around good guy. His passing is a tragic loss. My thoughts and those of the rest of my family are with all of Mike's family.

I worked with Mike for over 20 years. A great husband, father, grandfather, attorney, friend and person. He set a fine example for all of us, and will be missed by so many. Rest in peace Mike.

My brother just informed me of Mike's passing. I am so sorry to hear of his death. I actually dated Mike my senior year in high school and have fond memories of my date to senior prom. He was such a talented person with his art and he was a determined football player back in the day. I have no doubts that he applied all these talents to his professional and personal life. I know he will be missed by many.....he was taken from those who loved him way too early in his life.
~ Barbara Miller-Nevin - November 8, 2015
Ron, Linda and the Dutton family:
I was shocked and sad to learn of Mike's death. I considered him my best friend while attending Liberty Junior High and Hutchinson High School.
We played football together and softball every summer. He was extremely competitive but always a good sport; a quality which served him well during his legal career.
I didn't see Mike much after graduating form college and hoped we would have more time to reconnect when our children were grown and we approached retirement. I sincerely regret putting off those things I didn't yesterday which I can't do tomorrow. I will miss him. Good bye old buddy.

I remember my uncle to be so funny I grew up with a little finger nail and was so embarrassed by it. But my uncle Mike was born with fingers missing. He would say I lost them in a lawn mower accident. Or some other crazy event. I love you uncle Mike. I'll see you when I get there. Love your niece Karyn.
~ Karyn Harry - November 8, 2015
To the Dutton Family,
We want you all to know that your family is near and dear to our hearts. Mike was such an amazing man. I remember how he was always the voice of reason in many situations. When Jamie and Amy were moving into their apartment when going to Nursing School at KU, Mike was right there helping every step of the way. He was funny, loving and a little bit of a worried wart. He will be missed by so many but definitely missed by our family!!!! All our love and prayers, Dan and Kathy Forster

I am so sorry for the loss of this fine man. We were neighbors in Hutchinson during our early years. The "boys" were great fun and Nancy is one dear woman. Mike's mother and fathers were such wonderful parents. I have great memories of our time together. Please know Marcia and I are saddened by this loss. We do know that he has truly gone home.

So sorry to learn of Mike's passing. I remember him as one of Nancy's little brothers from grade school, junior high, and high school. His photo is so like he was as a young boy - always a sweet, kind, fun person with the greatest smile. My sincere sympathies and condolences to all the Dutton's and extended families. You will be in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.

Linda and Family:
I had the pleasure of working closely with Mike for the past 5 years. He was a great attorney, mentor and friend. I learned so much from him about the practice of law and will fondly remember our conversations about law and life in general. He was a great man and will be missed by all of us.

Linda: my heartfelt sympathy to you and the family in your untimely passing of Mike. He was the consummate lawyer, beloved law partner and most importantly a friend and mentor to all. Our firm and all who knew him will have a huge void. May the good Lord hold Mike in his arms and bring peace to the family. I have lost a valued friend and will miss his gentle way everyday.
~ Rick Merker - November 8, 2015
No words can express any of our emotions right now. Mike (and you Linda) were the BEST neighbors anyone could ask for our imagine. After the grief has subsided a bit, I will remember Mike out playing ball with the girls, being silly and funny, helping out with ANY need that any of us neighbors had, doing yard work and being there for all of us. We are all one giant family. We love you and are here for you and are praying for you. Love you dearly.
~ Bree Young - November 7, 2015

This is very sad news.
On behalf of the Hutchinson High School Class of 1970, may I express my sincere and heartfelt condolences to Mike's family and relatives. And may the fond memories you have of Mike far outweigh the sadness and grief you all are having to endure right now.
Mike was a very popular classmate who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
May God's blessings, comfort and peace be upon each and everyone of you at this very difficult time.
~ Robin Campbell - November 7, 2015
I am sincerely shocked and overwhelmed by the news of Mike's passing. My heart is so heavy for all of you, but especially you, Linda. A spouse is one we seek and CHOOSE, above all others, to cherish and love. I fail to express myself completely, but please know others share in your grief and wish you peace and comfort.
