Gladys M Yates 1941-2015
Born July 11, 1941 in Truman, Arkansas, her family moved to the Kansas City area when she was 3 years old. She met her Lord and Savior at 10 years of age and has loved and served Him all her life. She married her husband, Billy Yates on Oct. 4, 1958. She was a homemaker that loved her job dearly. Her focus was never on herself, but always on others and how she could help them. She passed away at her home in Olathe, KS on Dec. 19, 2015 after a long battle with cancer.
She is preceded in death by her father, Roy James, mother, Laura James and granddaughter Amber Yates.
She leaves behind her husband, Billy Yates of Olathe, KS; two brothers, Carl James (Connie) of Higgensville, MO and Donald James of Gardner, KS; one sister, Karen Carnnahan of KC, KS; one son, Mark Yates (Joycelyn) of Bonner Springs, KS; one daughter, Teresa Elliott (Lynn) of Lawrence, KS; three grandchildren; Heather Bone of Olathe, KS, James Yates (Kaitlyn) of Harrison, OH and Amanda Crichton (Scott) of Edinburgh, Scotland UK; and one great granddaughter, Madison Bone of Olathe, KS.
