Paul Henrich Bosworth

Mr. Bosworth died on February 24, 2016, at the age of 90.

Paul Henrich Bosworth was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 28, 1925, to Florence Amelia Gloor and F. LeRoy Bosworth. He was the grandson of Frank Alpheus Bosworth and Emma Grace Henrich, and Albert Gloor and Mary Zahn, all of Cook county, Illinois. Mr. Bosworth was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Shirley 'Lee' Louise Natzke, their infant daughter Pamla, brother Wally Gloor Bosworth, brother Roy Albert Bosworth, and nephew David John Bosworth. He is survived by his children, Paula Bosworth (Sheila Woods) of Atlanta, Georgia, Scott Bosworth of Olathe, Kansas, and granddaughters Briana and Brooke. He is also survived by nieces, Joyce Helland, Cynthia Bosworth, and nephew Mark Bosworth.

Mr. Bosworth graduated from Lane Technical High School, Chicago, Illinois, before enlisting in the Army Air Corps in 1944, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant assigned to the 8th Air Force, 305th Bombardment Group, 366th Bomber Squadron, serving as a tail gunner on the B-17, the 'Flying Fortress'. On March 2, 1945, his aircraft was shot down over Trier, Germany. He remained captive until the liberation of Europe. Paul was honored by the United States of America with the American Theater Ribbon, the EAME Ribbon (with four bronze stars), Air Medal (with two oak leaf clusters), and the Victory Medal World War II.

Upon returning home, he completed two years of architectural engineering studies at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He was married to Shirley Natzke on June 21,1947. Mr. Bosworth worked as a graphic arts sales representative, traveling throughout the Midwestern states, retiring in 1985. He is also a Past Master of Brotherhood Masonic Lodge 986, Chicago, Illinois.

Paul and Lee Bosworth joined Grace United Methodist Church in 1973, and supported the community and spiritual mission of the congregation, until health issues precluded their active participation. Mr. Bosworth was active in the Heart of America chapter of ex-Prisoners of War of Kansas City, Missouri, and the 305th Bombardment Memorial Association.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made in Mr. Bosworth's name to a favorite charity of their choice. The family wishes to deeply thank Mr. Bosworth's caretakers at the Garden Terrace at Overland Park, Kansas, for their kind, respectful, and thoughtful care.
