Jessie Louise Yocum, 92, of Olathe, KS passed away Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Olathe Hospice House.

Jessie was born in Bucyrus, KS to John L. and Malissa A. House. She married Russell Yocum in 1941. She was a homemaker until her children were in school. She then worked in a drapery shop and Spring Hill Packing Plant.

She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star 467 and the Earl Collier American Legion Auxiliary.

Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 69 years Russell, sister Barbara Marks, brother David House, grandson Daniel Yocum and granddaughter Emily Yocum.

Jessie is survived by daughters Nancy Yocum, Dianna McElroy, Mary Sweetser, and son Charles Yocum and wife Bemby, sister Charlotte Triebel, seven grandchildren and several great and great-great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Legion Unit 153 Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship Fund, c/o American Legion Post 153, 410 E. Dennis Ave. Olathe, KS 66061.
